WTM 2012 by TuristIQ
This November was held in London’s the most important tourism fair in the world, the WTM (World Travel Market – www.wtmlondon.com).
Between 5th and 8th ExCeL London has hosted thousands of exhibitors from five continents prepared to showcase their tourism innovations. At the same time, travel specialists have sought to learn about new products that entice customers into the next season.
This year, as was customary in the past editions, new technologies applied to tourism have been prominent and most seminars and presentations by experts have turned around.
The great public attendance at these conferences and the interest in individual presentations then show that tourism is changing substantially in their ways of promotion, hiring and even execution.
Fantastiq Transmedia Solutions took this excellent international tourism framework to present its new product, turistIQ, made especially for this sector.
turistIQ permits to know a city or territory in a playful and entertaining way, so that is the first proposal that associates to tourism a proposal of gamification or ludification.
Tracking tracks provides the traveller, tourist or MICE, interact with the environment to go. By solving small tests, will also test their intelligence in a fun tour competing with other travellers.
This additional recreational component favours the interest of the traveller to know the route off the usual options that existed until now to find a specific city or region.
During WTM numerous presentations of turistIQ were made to DMC tour operators and tourist offices. The interest was great and in the weeks that followed, first agreements arrived.
The ease of use of the platform that powers turistIQ routes can adapt quickly or introduce different routes or games that the client wishes to implement in their territory.
One of the features that most surprised and fascinated attendees demonstrations was the possibility of locating the various points of interest (POI) along the route by location or by QR codes, while the fact of the location using the Augmented Reality map finished by convincing many attendees.
The platform and the associated application enable integration of routes in different foreign languages which makes it very attractive to traditional incoming markets also for those operators who are opening it to the BRIC countries.
Various specialized media were interested in the proposal of turistIQ and echoed this new proposal of ludification applied to tourism.
